Visit of Delegation of the IBEC to the Republic of Bulgaria

The delegation of the International Bank for Economic Co-operation (IBEC) headed by Mrs. I.V. Golovchenko, Board Chairman, visited the Republic of Bulgaria from 25 to 28 May 2016.

According to the business program followed by the IBEC’s delegation, Mrs. I.V. Golovchenko, Board Chairman had a meeting with Mrs. Karaivanova, Deputy Minister of Finances of the Republic of Bulgaria, and a preliminary discussion of the agenda of the forthcoming 127th meeting of the IBEC’s Council.

On 26 May 2016, the IBEC and its opportunities were presented to the Bulgarian business community at the event organized by the Bulgarian-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRCCI) and the “Made in Bulgaria - Small and Medium Business Union” Association. The meeting was opened by Mr. Zh. Dobrev, BRCCI Chairman, who then called upon Mrs. I.V. Golovchenko, Board Chairman, for her opening speech. During the presentation of the Bank, members of the meetings received useful information about products and services offered by the IBEC, and advantages of cooperation with the IBEC. During the event, several business meetings were held with Bulgarian businessmen, where certain projects were discussed. The IBEC’s participation in this event was extensively covered by the Bulgarian press. The meeting was also attended by the Bulgarian Export Insurance Agency (BEIA). Mr. I. Raychev, BEIA Executive Director, emphasized the importance of BEIA’s liaison with banks dealing with foreign trade, namely, the IBEC. He expressed BEIA’s interest in development of relations with the IBEC. After the end of the official part of the event, representatives of the IBEC and the BEIA discussed aspects of their bilateral cooperation.

By invitation of Mr. Stati Statev, Professor and Doctor of Economic Sciences, Rector of the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), Mrs. I.V. Golovchenko, Board Chairman, delivered her lecture “The International Bank for Economic Co-operation and the European Economy” and presented the Bank to the Rector Council. During the meeting, the Cooperation Agreement between two organizations was signed.
