IBEC delegation at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum

The delegation of the International Bank for Economic Co-operation took part in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. One of the most noticeable Russian business events takes place on June 6–8 in the northern capital of Russia. Key topics of the Forum are consistent with the IBEC development priorities: digital technology, support for small and medium-sized business, optimization of transaction costs, efficiency and quality of service, horizontal integration. It is telling that delegates from all the member states of the Bank could be seen at the SPIEF, so the St. Petersburg Forum becomes an important communication platform for IBEC.

On the margins of the SPIEF, the delegation of the Bank held a series of business meetings, and a number of agreements reached were officially documented. Thus, an agreement was signed with the State Transport Leasing Company (STLC), which provides for the “development of long-term, efficient and mutually beneficial cooperation in organizing leasing operations for the benefit of counterparties registered in the territory of the IBEC member states, as well as in third-countries, to support the economies of the IBEC member states”. Chairman of the IBEC Board Denis Ivanov and Director General of STLC Sergei Khramagin noted that there is a wide field for constructive cooperation and the signed agreement will be the starting point for mutually beneficial contracts.

Another important document for the IBEC’s promotion in the Russian business community is the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (RF CCI). According to the Memorandum, IBEC and the RF CCI agreed on cooperation in order to “facilitate trade and industrial cooperation between the economic entities of the IBEC member states, focusing on the development of foreign trade relations”. Chairman of the IBEC Board Denis Ivanov believes that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, being one of the most reputable business unions in Russia, will support IBEC in more active promotion of its services and products for the Russian companies. President of the CCI Sergei Katyrin noted the growing interest of the Russian business in the Eastern European market and the unique opportunities to work in the Bank’s member states, which IBEC provides.
